The Seal of the 3rd Edition trademark logo has been designed to indicate compatibility with the 3rd Edition of the most popular fantasy roleplaying game on the planet. It is intended, in part, to replace the function of the D20 Trademark License (which is being revoked in 2008). In addition, with the game shifting from 3rd Edition to 4th Edition in the summer of 2008, there is a need to address potential customer confusion in determining whether a particular product has been designed for the 3rd Edition or 4th Edition game.
